March 12 & 19 2022
March 12 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM EST
March 19 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Based on an old “fork” shape Cath published in 2011, this project was initially meant to become a star on her tree top for Christmas. As Cath says: “Bead and muses have their own will”. This Sun pendant was the result. It can be a brooch or just a toy, because it spins like a pinwheel!
Not really difficult if you use the right materials (Cath recommends Miyuki seed beads, not another brand), the technique – 3D cellini peyote – can be tricky, for it offers two possibilities for the direction of the swirl and if the wrong direction is taken, things won’t work.
During the first part of the class, students will learn to make the components. They will have one week to finish the components. In the second part of the class, students will make bezel, bail, and learn how to interconnect the components. Recommendations of various sorts will be discussed.
